  2. I'm amazed Prudence. 206 contributors, and then you joining the pieces together to make a unified work of art. Different countries and cultures together in unity through art touches me profoundly. It makes me recall something that Maire Treanor said to me a couple years ago...'it's not the people that makes the countries look bad, it's the governments'. I will never forget that because it is so true. I like to think that my little piece is touching another nation as another nation is touching me...like holding hands. I love each one of the contributors deeply that goes beyond words.

  11. Once again, thanks to everyone for their comments, but most especially to James, one of the first freeformers! I'm sure each and every crocheter involved in the project will be thrilled to know that you took the time to look...and that you found our piece impressive.
There are plans afoot to have the work tour widely (and eventually 'world-widely')...not only to shows but also in galleries. I'll post the details as the venues and dates are confirmed...but to start it on its travels, the next couple of showings will still be in Australia - in July, at the Craft & Quilt Fairs in both Launceston, Tasmania, and Melbourne, Victoria.
Once I finally get caught up with all the other stuff that was put aside and didn't get done while the stitching-up was happening...(and yes, there still does seem to be quite a bit to catch up on - but I'm definitely not complaining; maybe just getting a bit slower with the more mundane stuff in my 'old age'!)...I will eventually post more photos...so stay tuned ;-)

  12. Once in a while you discover someone who inspires you. Once in a while you discover someone who has great passion. Once in a while you discover someone who is ingenious and unique.
James Walters and Prudence Mapstone.... I am so happy that I discovered you.
